Living In Faith Effectively (L.I.F.E.)

We are are familiar with American idioms such as: Talk is cheap; Put up or shut up; Actions speak louder than words. These idioms pertain to a person whose behavior contradicts who they claim to be. People will often claim to be something, without having a clear understanding of what it means to label oneself in a certain manner. According to ABC News, "83% of Americans identify themselves as being Christians." If only this were true! Unfortunately their survey was not based upon Biblical criteria.

For millions of Americans, Christian has just become a "name", instead of the "new creation" that is written in Scripture. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, The Bible says: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  Also in Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." The Bible clearly says in the Great Commission, (Matthew 28:19-20) that we are to "make disciples of all nations," unfortunately, too many people have merely made a Decision. Those who truly identify with Christ, are Living In Faith Effectively.

L.I.F.E. is a 4 part curriculum written by Pastor Brown, designed to teach each person what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, so that he or she will know what it means to Live In Faith Effectively.

 Course One
*  BC 101
Everyone needs to know what he or she believes. Learn and understand the irreducible minimum                structure of the Christian faith. Understand what God: has done for you, is doing in you and will do            through you. This is a doctrinal study, delivered in such terms, so that even a child will understand.
The better educated we are, the more effective we will be.

 Course Two

*  Why Do I Behave This Way?

Too many people are held in bondage by their own personal behaviors, which they often feel                      powerless to change. Deepen your understanding of who you are and who God intends for you to be.          Don't waste thousands of dollars trying to find yourself. The Bible has already clearly stated who we

and why we behave certain ways. Not only does scripture tell us WHY, it also tells us what to do in

order to fix our behaviors. True emancipation begins when we are able to understand ourselves, then        we will be able to appreciate and get along with others.

 Course Three

*  Where Does God Want Me To Serve?

All too often people limit their Christian faith to just, showing up on Sunday for Worship Service. The

vast majority of people who participate in ministries, limit their service to one of 3 things:

       (1) Personal Talents (what we believe that we are good at or do professionally), (2) Personal like or            interests or (3) a friend asked them to be part of their group. Many people don't do anything, the

most common reason is that they don't feel that they are talented at anything.

God rarely uses our personal talents to advance His kingdom. God uses the gifts that He gives to each

of us who are saved. Everyone has a gift and everyone has a place where God wants him or her to              serve. When we discover the gifts that God has given to us, we will eagerly and joyfully use them

to advance His kingdom. Gifted people edify one another. Discover where God wants you to serve.

 Course Four

Community Evangelical Outreach (C.E.O.)

Many people try to excuse their way out of evangelism, by claiming that they are not called to be  an

evangelist or a preacher. The Great Commission was given to all who are Christians, everyone who is          saved, has been commanded to share the gospel. We get excited about many things in life and we              can't wait to share these things with others. Being saved is the greatest news this world could ever            hear. Unfortunately, most Christians don't know how to explain their faith without starting an

argument or becoming frustrated or discouraged. C.E.O. equips every believer with tools that will

enable them to share their faith without becoming discouraged, frustrated or starting an argumrnt.
